Forensic Collision Reconstruction for motor vehicle accidents, case review, Event Data Recorder (EDR) analysis, expert testimony, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) drone media of incident location with roadway characteristics and scene analysis, LiDAR scene and vehicle scanning, and photogrammetric analysis of collision scenes.
Focused on determining how a collision occurred through either a complete detailed objective analysis of the entire event or a limited case review of certain factors and circumstances in the collision. Reconstructions are based upon all available facts and evidence and are consistent with established scientific principles.
Most modern vehicles are equipped with an Event Data Recorder (EDR), commonly referred to as a "black box." We analyze data from the event, which may include the speed of the vehicle prior to an event, changes in velocity due to an impact, whether or not brakes were applied, and dozens of other pieces of information used in collision reconstruction.
Once the investigation and analysis are completed, we can then provide our expert opinion. Through our comprehensive knowledge, skill, experience, training, and education in collision reconstruction, we can provide expert testimony and litigation support in civil and criminal courts.
This analysis helps determine how, why, and where human error or failures contributed to an accident. Human Factors analysis includes, but is not limited to, perception and response times based on situational and empirical data tailored to the specific facts and circumstances of each case. It addresses contributing environmental factors such as visibility due to lighting, weather, roadside, or other obstructions. Results are based on published, peer reviewed studies.
We utilize advanced technology, such as drones and Lidar, to assist with an analysis of the roadway/scene and vehicle damage. Our experts utilize scanners and Dot Product 3D software to forensically map the scene and measure evidence for reconstruction of the event.
Using drones and advanced scanning tools, we offer photogrammetry and digital 3D models of the scene and vehicles with accurate point clouds. See 2D/3D Recon for more information.
In the future, 208 Recon intends to add additional Reconstruction services, to include: Heavy Vehicle Data retrieval and analysis, and Commercial Vehicle Inspections.
